Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Stipe Miocic at "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3" finale on May 31 in Sao Paolo, Brazil due to a fractured hand. Mixed martial arts website Combate initially reported the injury with the UFC later confirming on Monday. "Im really sad. I apologize to my fans, to the UFC and to my opponent, Stipe Miocic, and hope to have another opportunity to fight in Brazil once my hand is healed," dos Santos said in a statement. The heavyweight fight between dos Santos and Miocic was originally moved into the main event slot after the reality shows coaches fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen was pushed to UFC 175 in July after Silva injured his hand in an on-set scuffle with Sonnen. Now, Grace Tourinho, the UFCs CEO in Brazil, told Combate that the promotion will try to replace dos Santos or find a new main event all together. The main card will feature the "TUF: Brazil 3" middleweight and heavyweight finals, as well as a welterweight fight between Demian Maia and Alexander Yakovlev and a featherweight contest between Rony Jason and Robbie Peralta. Nadal cruised past South Africas Kevin Anderson 7-5, 6-1, 6-4, while Murray beat 10th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 7-5. The 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal beat Roger Federer in the 2009 Aussie final and is a two-time runner-up in Melbourne, including last year when he was stunned by Stan Wawrinka in the final. Nadal, of course, is the reigning French Open king. Winning against the No. 15 of the world in straight sets, would be very arrogant if I say Im not a very high percentage, said Nadal. Happy the way I played today. Nadal will play in the quarterfinals here for the eighth time. He will next face seventh-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych, who defeated Bernard Tomic 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. Berdych is through to the quarterfinals in Melbourne for the fifth straight year. Well, Im feeling very good. Its been a great, great run so far, said Berdych. But, yeah, I just put myself in the best possible position right now. Im just really looking forward to it. Murray, a three-time Aussie Open runner-up, was almost taken to a fifth set on Sunday. The Brit saved a set point while serving at 5-2 down in the fourth set, then got it back on serve at 5-5, broke Dimitrov to love -- which prompted the 23-year-old to destroy his racquet -- and then served out.dddddddddddd The victory sends Murray to an Australian Open quarterfinal for the sixth straight year, and came against an opponent who ended his Wimbledon 2013 title defense in the quarterfinals last year. Murray also reached his 16th straight Grand Slam quarterfinal. The last time Murray failed to reach the last eight at a major was when he lost in the third round at the 2010 U.S. Open to Wawrinka. Next up for Murray is Australian Nick Krygios, who rallied past Andreas Seppi of Italy 5-7, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), 8-6. Seppi was trying to build off his monstrous upset of Federer in the third round. I knew it was going to be a tough battle, said Krygios. Hes playing some of the best tennis hes played ever since coming off that win against Roger. I knew it was going to be tough from the get-go. I just had to draw on my experiences of coming back from two sets to love. Paid off in the end. Krygios, who saved a match point, became the first Australian man to reach the quarterfinals here since Lleyton Hewitt in 2005. ' ' '
